

Allison Wucher was born and raised in California's San Francisco Bay Area. In 2009 she graduated with a BFA in Painting and Art History from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI. During her time at RISD, she explored concepts relating to religion and identity while utilizing the symbolic vernacular and traditional painting methods from the Northern and Italian Renaissance. In addition to painting, she spends much of her time investigating and researching art history from numerous historical periods. However, her primary interest is Northern Renaissance and traditional guild and workshop practices around the world.
Allison was awarded a Gelman Travel Fellowship in 2009 where she researched the history and contemporary uses of religious art workshops in Russia, Turkey, Europe, and Peru. She is currently enrolled in the Art History MA program at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London where she will focus on Northern Renaissance Art. She will complete her MA in the Summer of 2011.
